Day 01: Delhi:
Meet on arrival at Delhi Airport and transfer to Hotel. Relax and overnight.
Day 02: Delhi:
Morning breakfast proceed for full day local sightseeing visit tour of Old & New Delhi. Old Delhi - An ancient walled city. Visit Red Fort (visit subject to security permission), the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire, Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi, Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India and Chandini Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city. New Delhi - This city designed and built by the British in the 1920's - a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. Visit Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate and Parliament House. Overnight.
Day 03: Delhi / Agra:
Morning breakfast checkout and drive to Agra. On arrival check into Hotel. Later proceed to visit Taj Mahal - Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took nearly 22 years to be completed and was designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa, Agra Fort - Built by the famed Mughal emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, the fort is predominantly of red sandstone. Ensconced within is the picture perfect Pearl Mosque, which is a major tourist attraction. Overnight. (Taj Mahal remains closed on every Friday)
Day 04: Agra / Gwalior:
Morning breakfast, checkout and drive to Gwalior. On arrival check into Hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing visit Jai Vilas Palace – this Palace is famous for its ornate Chandeliers & crystal. A few of the rooms have been converted into a museum filled with the Scindia dynasty memorabilia. Visit the huge Gwalior Fort – where a sun temple is believed to have been constructed within the area of the fort, Visit Man Mandir, which is a six-towered palace and forms the eastern wall of the fort. The fort has monuments dating back to 8th Century AD onwards and is one of the largest forts in India. Back tp Hotel. Overnight.
Day 05: Gwalior / Khajuraho:
Morning breakfast, checkout and drive to Khajuraho. On arrival check into Hotel. Relax and overnight.
Day 06: Khajuraho:
Morning breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing Kandariya Mahadeo, the largest and most typical Khajuraho temple, it soars 31 mts. high. Chaunsat Yogini, the only granite temple and the earliest surviving shrine of the group (900 A.D.) it is dedicated to Kali. Chitragupta temple is the temple dedicated to the Sun God. Surya Vishwanath temple, a three headed image of Brahma is enshrined in this temple, and various other temples. Back to hotel. Overnight.
Day 07: Khajuraho / Orchha:
Morning breakfast, checkout and drive to Orchaa, on arrival check into hotel. Relax and later in the afternoon proceed for sightseeing visit Jehangiri Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of Moghul Emperor Jehangir, the Taj Mahal and the Laxmi Narain temple, both noted for their fine Frescoes and Mural paintings. Back to hotel. Overnight.
Day 08: Orchha / Jhansi / Bhopal:
Morning transfer to Jhansi Railway station to board the train to Bhopal.
Meet on arrival at Bhopal Railway station and transfer to Hotel. Relax and later proceed to visit Taj-Ul-Masjid, Jama Masjid, Moti Masjid, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Bharat Bhawan, Sadar Manzil. Back to hotel. Overnight.
Day 09: Bhopal / Sanchi / Udaigiri / Bhopal:
Full day visit excursion to Sanchi & Udaygiri Caves. Sanchi - is a serene hill crowned by a group of stupa and pillars that represents the peak of perfection in Buddhist art and architectural modes. See the great stupa No.1 the oldest stone structure in India, 36.5 mts in diameter and 16.4 mts high and with a massive hemispherical dome, the dome stands in eternal majesty. It has paved procession path around it worn smooth by centuries of visiting pilgrims. Four gateways - Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern gateway; Stupa No.2, No.3 and the Ashoka Pillar. The Buddhist Vihara, The great bowl - carved out of one block of stone, this mammoth bowl was carved to contain food that was distributed amongst the monks of Sanchi. The Gupta temple, the museum also are worth visiting. Udaigiri Caves - Hewn from local sandsstone in the Gupta period there are 20 caves. The finest cave no. 5 with a colossal representation of Vishnu delivering the earth goddess Prithvi from the water demon, watched by angels and demons. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Bhopal / Ujjain / Indore:
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Indore enroute visit Ujjain - One of the seven holy cities of the Hindus, situated on the banks of Khipra, is a much frequented pilgrimage centre. The famous Kumbha Mela is celebrated with great splendor every twelve years. On arrival at Indore check into Hotel. Relax or proceed for sightseeing and overnight.
Day 11: Indore / Mandu:
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Mandu enroute visit Omkareshwar - A holy island, shaped like the sacred Hindu symbol ‘OM’, Omkareshwar continues to draw thousands of devotees. Here the rivers Narmada and Kaveri meet and pilgrims gather at the confluence in large numbers to kneel and pay obeisance before the Jyotirlinga (one of the twelve throughout India) at the temple of Sri Omkar Mandhata. On arrival at Mandu check into Hotel. Mandu is one of the most interesting sites of Central India. Perched along the Vindhya ranges at an altitude of 2,000 fee, Mandu with its natural defenses was originally the fort capital of the Parmar rulers of Malwa. Towards the end of the 13th Century it came under the sway of the Sultans of Malwa, the first of whom named it Shadiabad – “city of joy”. And indeed the pervading spirit of Mandu was of gaiety, and its rulers built exquisite palaces, ornamental canals, baths and pavilions, as graceful and refined as those times of peace and plenty. Back to hotel. Overnight.
Day 12: Mandu / Aurangabad:
Morning after breakfast checkout and drive to Aurangabad. On arrival check into Hotel. Overnight.
Day 13: Aurangabad / Ajanta Caves / Aurangabad:
Full day visit of Ajanta Caves - the Ajanta caves were discovered by the British maneuvering troops in 1819. This consists of 24 monasteries and 5 temples some of which are over 2000 years old. The story of Lord Buddha is depicted in the frescoes which are remarkable. (Ajanta Caves is Closed on Monday) Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Aurangabad / Ellora Caves / Mumbai:
Morning visit Ellora Caves - the Ellora Caves are West facing caves. These caves relate the story of evolution of Buddhism. Back to hotel. Checkout and drive to Aurangabad Airport to board the flight to Mumbai. (Ellora Caves is Close on Tuesday)
Meet on arrival at Mumbai Airport and transfer to Hotel. Relax and Overnight
Day 15: Mumbai – Onward Destination:
Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing visit Gateway of India overlooking the Harbour, the Towers of Silence, Marine Drive, Mani Bhawan, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. Later in the evening transfer to Airport to board the flight for onward destination. Tour Ends.
Goa Extension:
Day 15: Mumbai / Goa:
Meet on arrival at Goa Airport and transfer to Hotel. Relax and overnight.
Day 16: Goa:
Day is at your leisure and overnight.
Day 17: Goa:
Day is at your leisure and overnight.
Day 18: Goa / Mumbai – Onward Destination.
Morning leisure and later drive to Goa Airport to board the flight to Mumbai. Tour Ends.
