India and Finland sign MoU for strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism

A MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Government of Finland was signed for strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism. The MoU was signed in between Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel, Indian Minister for Tourism and Mr. Timo Harakka, Minister for Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Government of Finland.

A high-level delegation consisting of Arto Haapea, Minister Counsellor/DHM and Ritva Koukku-Ronde, Ambassador-Designate accompanied the Finnish Minister. Secretary, Tourism Yogendra Tripathi was also present on the occasion.

Finland is one of the important inbound source markets in Europe for India. Approx 22K tourist traveled to India in 2018 and this number will increase in 2019 & 2020 as mentioned by both the minsters.
