Tourist comfort is our responsibility: J&K Tourism Secretary

Quite often reality overshadows perception and it is our responsibility as the Tourism Department to send out the right information to the tourists who wish to visit the state, said Rigzin Samphel, IAS, Secretary Tourism, Government of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) while addressing the media at the Kashmir Tourism Conclave & Interaction in Mumbai.

Jenab Khursheed A. Ganai, IAS, Advisor to Governor of J&K, exclaimed, “Kashmir & Ladakh attract the maximum tourists from all around the world. We organise Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir which again witnesses massive footfall of domestic tourists. We want tourists to be extremely comfortable.”

Being optimistic about J&K, Sudhir Patil, President, Maharashtra Tour Operators Association (MTOA), said, “Srinagar, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Katra, Jammu continue to receive the attention of tourists. The industry will flourish further with the introduction of cable car at Patnitop that will be starting around April 16 to 20.

Pramod Dalvi, Vice President, Kesari Tours, said, “Some in-human events happen in one part and entire Kashmir suffers. We as a team of Kesari will always continue organising tours to Kashmir.”
